SEPTEMBER FEATURED MEMBER!

It is our pleasure to celebrate Paul this month. Paul joined RoughFit in September 2019 and has since become a true inspiration to everyone in the class. He trains at 8:30 am and 6 pm Group Fitness classes, both weekly Yoga sessions, and regularly leads the fastest group of Friday morning runs. He is also the newest member of the RoughFit Book Club.

Paul’s dedication to RoughFit is unmatched, earning him the Attendance Award year after year. Paul not only wins it every year but also dominates it. Sometimes the second place for attendance is behind by dozens of classes.

Despite fracturing his wrist earlier this year, Paul never let it hold him back. He showed up to every class, adjusting exercises as needed, and remained committed to his progress. Paul consistently selects challenging progressions for each exercise, always striving to improve.

He fully embraces all that RoughFit offers, including rising early for Friday morning runs despite not being a natural morning person. His commitment was particularly evident last year when he ran to the Banquet instead of driving because he did not have a car, demonstrating how far he would go to avoid FOMO.

However, Paul’s activities don’t stop there. Beyond RoughFit, Paul plays Ultimate Frisbee three times a week, a sport he’s been playing for 25 years. Paul also started a new academic journey, pursuing an MBA in Accounting since his retirement in 2020, and continues to be a powerhouse in community involvement.

His involvement extends to his children’s school, where he has served as President of Peter’s Canyon PTO and currently holds the roles of auditor and financial secretary on their executive board. Additionally, Paul volunteers with OC United Way’s VITA program, assisting low-income individuals with their taxes.

Paul’s enthusiasm for RoughFit stems from his belief that being around people who aspire to become better versions of themselves is truly motivating. Since joining, he’s seen remarkable improvements in his overall health and core strength. He also appreciates how RoughFit has encouraged him to step out of his comfort zone and try new things.

We are incredibly grateful for Paul’s dedication and energy. His commitment to fitness and community service is truly inspiring and significantly impacts us all.

Thank you for everything, Paul—and see you in class!
