AUGUST FEATURED MEMBER!
Congratulations to our August Featured Member, Jodi Ristrom!
We are excited to feature Jodi this month. She has been a dedicated member of RoughFit for nearly three years and trains in both the Run Club and Group Fitness classes. Plus, she is a dedicated member of the RoughFit book club.
Jodi demonstrates impressive dedication to her run training, often completing her miles before the 5:45 AM Group Fitness class. Her commitment and consistency have led to remarkable improvements in her strength and balance.
Additionally, Jodi’s motivation and 110% effort are inspiring to everyone around her. Notably, she consistently demonstrates excellent push-up form and great overall technique. Plus, she moved up to 15-pound dumbbells in class, challenging herself to improve her strength and build lean muscle mass.
Jodi began running in her late 40s, completing her first marathon in 2017 at 54. Since then, she has completed seven marathons, including the Beijing marathon and countless half-marathons. Jodi has completed the LA Marathon twice and the Marine Corps Marathon in San Francisco. This November, Jodi takes on the NYC Marathon. One day, Jodi hopes to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
However, those are only Jodi’s domestic marathons. A passionate world traveler, her running achievements are also global. She ran a marathon on the Great Wall of China and another through the streets of London, among others.
When she isn’t running a race or building up her core and strength in Group Fitness class, Jodi is a CPA. A partner in her firm, she heads up the auditing department and is entrusted with key accounts of her organization. She has been married to Joe for 31 years, and they have two kids, Nick, 29, and Lauren, 25.
What you might not know about our fun and determined running classmate is that her mother was Jacqueline Kennedy. Sure, her mom was not the former first lady, but she was married to a man in government; Jodi’s father was a Master Gunnery sergeant in the Marine Corps for 22 years.
Jodi also credits her father’s career and success as the source for some of that determination that carries her through the grueling 26.2-mile races she runs worldwide. It also meant that she moved a lot as a kid, which is part of the reason she is so good at making friends.
Jodi credits RoughFit for making her feel good both mentally and physically. She loves working out in the park, the supportive group, and the variety of workouts.
We love having Jodi in class. We look forward to seeing what she continues to achieve with her dedication to good form and consistent commitment to improvement.
