Congratulations to our November Featured Member: Sue Ballantyne!
Sue has been a dedicated member of the RoughFit family since 2007 and is a true veteran of our community. Happily married, Sue and her husband Mike have two boys and are now proud grandparents to a grandson. She works as a CPA at a small aerospace company, but her passion for fitness and health is what truly sets her apart.
Sue is one of the most disciplined and committed individuals I know. She and Mike have been part of the RoughFit Run Club since its inception in 2010. Before joining, Sue believed her running days were behind her, occasionally running only 3 miles. However, after participating in our Group Fitness classes and working on her weaknesses, she began to push her limits. What started as short runs evolved into incredible accomplishments. Today, Sue is a running superstar, having completed 5 marathons, including 3 of the prestigious Boston Marathon. Sue has run an impressive 3:37 marathon and a 1:43 half marathon! Nowadays, Sue enjoys shorter trail races but is always ready and fit for any race that comes her way.
Sue credits RoughFit for transforming her overall health and fitness. She’s revamped her diet after learning so much about nutrition through our classes, and she continues to come back because of the camaraderie, friendships, and unique challenges that push her beyond what she thought possible. Sue also loves seeing her fellow RoughFitters achieve their goals and feels blessed to be part of this community.
Personally, Sue has been a wonderful example in my life. She embodies kindness, faith, and determination. Whether she's crushing a race, surfing, or taking on a new challenge, Sue's spirit is truly inspiring.
